Return to Healthy: Day 8

Sssshhhhh....it is not really day 8. It's more like Day 15.

I hope you can suffer my fantasy, for a bit.

It's not that I fell down in my diet, because I didn't.

It's not that I didn't seriously "think" about going to work out. I had it written in my little brown book so of course I thought about it.

All of those things really happened.

It's only that work kicked my butt. Actually, the working mom role, and all the conflicts that come with that role, did. A bit difficult to choose a work out when it is in the balance with working for the money that pays the rent, and all that fun stuff.

That shouldn't be too much of a problem anymore, now that school is out. No more having to use my early morning hours to make lunches and wake up teenage boys. No more having to battle soccer mom traffic in order to drop the kids off at school. No more having to leave work early to battle the traffic again at the end of the day.

So, back to "Day 8" ...wink, wink, nod, nod...

Protein was king today. Hardly any empty carbs hit my body. My only digression, a small (which was really like a large in size, and price) carrot cake ice cream with diced pecans from Marble Slab Creamer. Protein, calcium, vegetables...OK, and lots of sugar.

I finished it just in time to battle a packed gym for a mini-workout with cardio and  lots of weights. Gotta keep working towards my beach body...you know how that goes.

Tomorrow, cycling and swimming.
